Newcastle United are interested signing Tammy Abraham from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to The Northern Echo. It has been reported that the Magpies have spoken to Chelsea officials about signing the striker on a loan deal.
Chelsea are reluctant to sanction a loan move for Abraham right now, but the European champions could change their stance in the coming weeks and months. The 23-year-old striker struggled for playing time at the Blues this season and was not even on the substitutes’ bench for the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Callum Wilson is the main striker at Newcastle, and although the 29-year-old has done for the Magpies this season, he has had injury problems. The England international made 23 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Steve Bruce’s side this season, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
