The Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards has reported on Twitter that Newcastle United are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Premier League rivals Everton in the January transfer window. The journalist has claimed that Newcastle are in discussions over signing the left-back on loan with an option to buy in the summer.
Everton manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly open to selling Digne in the January transfer window. The France international left-back has scored four goals in 113 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Newcastle are in the Premier League bottom three at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. Digne is at the top of his game at the moment and would be able to make an immediate impact at Newcastle as well make an impact in the long run.
