Newcastle United are interested in signing Alfredo Morelos from Rangers in the January transfer window, according to 90min. The new Newcastle owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment fund (PIF), believe that Rangers striker Morelos is a very realistic target and are closely monitoring his situation.
It has been reported that Newcastle have already done their work on Morelos and could make a bid for the Colombia international striker when the transfer window opens in January. The 25-year-old has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership and has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this season.
Morelos has scored two goals and provided two assists in the league so far this campaign. Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row and may not be willing to sell the Colombia in January.
