Newcastle United are interested in signing Mason Mount from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail. Talks between Chelsea and Mount are not going so well at the moment, and Premier League rivals Newcastle reportedly are keen to take advantage of the situation and bring the England international midfielder to St. James’ Park.
Mount is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and has been on the books of Chelsea his entire professional club football career so far. The 24-year-old has won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup once each with the Blues.
Newcastle are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 41 points from 24 matches, four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have payed 26 games. Meanwhile, Chelsea currently find themselves as low as 10th in the standings with 34 points from 25 games.
