Newcastle wants £14m for Given

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear wants at least £14million for Manchester City target Shay Given, according to the Sun.

City made a new £6million bid for the Newcastle goalkeeper last night, but the Toon boss is not interested in selling at that price.

Newcastle would also be interested in including Michael Johnson as part of a deal, but it is not believed the Manchester City youngster would be interested in such a move.

Given is keen on leaving Newcastle for City, where he could be offered a deal worth around £72,000-a-week.

The Sun says Kinnear is ready to cash in on Given, after the Toon boss was handed just £10million for transfers in January by club owner Mike Ashley.
