According to a recent report from Calciomercato, both West Ham United and Newcastle United are both interested in trying to sign Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez – and the report also indicates that Roma are willing to make the sense.
At the age of just 25, you’d have to imagine that Lopez would be intrigued by the possibility of switching tracks to join the Premier League, especially if he is guaranteed some time in the first team.
Newcastle and West Ham have both been suffering from a real lack of confidence and success in the last few years, especially from a defensive standpoint. If either one of them can secure the signing of Lopez, it’ll be a huge sign of their intent.
These two clubs are looking to turn their fortunes around in the form of a top half finish next season, with many wondering whether or not Lopez is one of the key missing pieces of the puzzle.
