Mirror Football suggests that Newcastle United front-man Demba Ba looks set to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Ba of course currently has a release clause on his contract that the Magpies are trying to resolve before the window opens, but it looks as though they might be losing their leading scorer in the New Year.
This is because both Arsenal and Liverpool are aware of the situation that the Senegal international is in and they could battle it out for his signature in the first week of January.
Although Newcastle want to keep the man who has scored ten goals in the English Premier League this season, they know that if the clause is still in place come the New Year, then there is not much they can do.
So Alan Pardew will turn his attention to Marseille striker Loic Remy and look to bring him in as a replacement.
Remy is a promising young striker that has been linked with a move to England for a while now and it looks as though he could be heading to St James’ Park.
It all depends on the Ba situation, but this is certainly a story to keep an eye on.
