Competition: Premier League
Market: QPR to stay up
Odds: 2/5 @ William Hill
Following Queens Park Rangers’ promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs, they are now thinking ahead to next season and what positions they need to strengthen to avoid getting relegated in their maiden season in the top flight.
After narrowly avoiding relegation from the Premier League in the 2011/12 season, following their promotion the campaign before, 2012/13 was a nightmare for the club. They had a change in manager, but just couldn’t arrest the slide which saw them finishing rock bottom of the division with 25 points.
However, that campaign the squad was full of players unwilling to play for the side. Players that are no longer at the club, and as a result, William Hill are giving odds of 2/5 for Queens Park Rangers to stay up in 2014/15 when they return to the Premier League.
They have an English core to the side which should serve them well on the pitch, but manager Harry Redknapp does have an ageing contingent to worry about in the summer – players like Richard Dunne, Clint Hill and Joey Barton are all well over 30.
Bet: newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers to stay up in the Premier League next season @ 2/5 with William Hill >>
