Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Palermo playmaker Javier Pastore to Santiago Bernabeu, but Real boss looks set to miss out on the Argentine, who dreams of playing for Barcelona.
After helping his side beat Juventus at Olimpico, Pastore was compared to Zidane by Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, who also said that the midfielder would be worth as much as Messi in few years’ time.
Real Madrid have already tried to sign the 21-year-old, offering Palermo €25 million in July, but Zamparini wants twice as much, while he respects the player’s desire to play for Barcelona.
When asked whether his prized asset will leave the club, the Palermo president replied:
“Yes, but not to Real Madrid, since Mourinho wants to get him cheap. I think he will end up at Barcelona. He is a great friend of Leo Messi and I know he made a promise.”
Javier Pastore has also revealed he dreams of playing for Barcelona.
“It is true that I said that my dream was to wear the Barcelona shirt one day and play alongside Messi, but I am fully focused on Palermo and making an impact in Serie A.”
