Barcelona and Neymar have agreed personal terms for the Brazilian to return to the Camp Nou this summer, according to Sport.
Apparently, Neymar’s desperation to leave Paris Saint-Germain and rejoin the La Liga champions has reached the point where he has accepted a significant pay-cut – anything to make it happen. He didn’t even attempt to negotiate, being fully aware that that’s the best Barcelona can afford to offer at the moment. If a deal can be struck between the two clubs, he will be earning 50% less than his current wages in Paris.
The 27-year-old left the Blaugrana in 2017 in a rather controversial manner as the French club activated his €222 million release clause, which still holds as the world record when it comes to transfer fees. It’s believed he wanted the move in order to escape from the shadow of five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, but he appears ready to play alongside the Argentine superstar once more. His aim is not to earn a fortune, but rather to re-establish himself as one of the best players on the planet.
However, if the clubs fail to reach an agreement, he would – only then – be ready to consider a move to Real Madrid.
