The summer transfer window has officially closed, and it appears as if Paris Saint-Germain are going to be holding onto Brazilian star Neymar after all. The controversial forward has made it perfectly clear over the course of the last few months that he was interested in the possibility of a move away from the Ligue 1 champions, but it never seemed like they ever got to an advanced stage of the negotiations.
It was well noted that both Barcelona and Real Madrid were amongst the frontrunners in the race to acquire his signature, but neither seemed overly proactive when it came to ironing out the details.
Barca made a few offers that included a few very clear and obvious advances, but when push came to shove, they just couldn’t come to terms – meaning that they will have to wait until at least January before they can start thinking about signing him again.
