Things between Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain are not as bad as they used to be, according to the French L’Equipe, as relayed by AS, with sources inside the club claiming there is “no longer a war”. That said, there is perhaps some possibility that the Brazilian will not be leaving Parc des Princes this season after all.
In addition to PSG’s large fee demand of 100 million euros for the 27-year-old forward, an amount neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid can so easily afford at the moment, the most recent report of Neymar expecting to earn 35 million euros per year has emerged as a convenient exit door for both of the Spanish clubs.
It has been reported that PSG’ manager Thomas Tuchel will not be including Neymar in any of the club’s matches before the transfer situation is resolved, which cannot come soon enough.
Back in 2017 Neymar signed a five-year contract with PSG for an annual salary of 37 million euros and it would not be unreasonable to assume he would expect similar terms of contract in a new club. This, on top of the club fee, might prove a bit of a challenge for any of his potential suitors.
