Ever since Neymar left Barcelona and joined Paris Saint-Germain for €222m, everyone is wondering where he might go next. Some were saying he could even go to Real Madrid, while others contemplating a shocking return to Barcelona. However, next summer we might even see that happen.
This summer the Brazilian star will almost definitely stay at PSG, but after the 2019-20 season, his contract could get a transfer release clause. Mundo Deportivo report that there are no release clauses in his contract right now, but after the upcoming season that will happen and clubs could activate it for €170m!
If there is a club interested in Neymar after next season, PSG could be in a situation where they could not stop things. Anyone who activates the release clause can negotiate straight with the player, without the club being able to do anything. In fact, that is exactly what happened in 2017 when Barcelona were powerless to stop Neymar from leaving Blaugrana.
