Niang set to reject Tottenham

According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Rennes forward M’Baye Niang is set to reject the chance to join Tottenham Hotspur during the upcoming summer transfer window. The belief is that Niang isn’t interested in playing the back-up role to Harry Kane who, as we all know, is the star man in North London and has been for many years now.

While some will argue that this is a selfish point of view from Niang, it certainly highlights how confident players are in their own ability these days. While he may or may not have been given the role of understudy for Kane, he still feels like he can be the main man for a top club in Europe.

Still, as admirable as that may be, it’s definitely a risk for him to reject an offer from last year’s Champions League finalists. Whether or not he gets a better offer, if this report is true, remains to be seen.
