Ligue 1 high flyers Nice have moved to confirm interest in Galatasaray star Wesley Sneijder.
Les Aiglons did well to qualify for the Champions League play-offs as they defeated Ajax on aggregate, and no wonder chairman Jean-Pierre Rivere was happy with the outcome.
The president also discussed potential summer reinforcements and while he denied interest in Samir Nasri, Rivere confirmed they were thinking about Wesley Sneijder.
“Nasri is not subject (of our interest) at all. With Sneijder we had contacts, it is true, not not Nasri,” Rivere told reporters. “Sneijder is the player we are looking at.”
The Netherlands international is looking for a new challenge after spending last four years at Galatasaray and he is now a free agent having agreed mutual termination with the club.
Sneijder made a total of 175 competitive outings for the Turkish giants, producing 45 goals and 44 assists in the process.
