OGC Nice are interested in signing Nicolas Pepe on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the 2022/23 season and the two clubs are currently negotiating a potential move, according to The Athletic.
The Gunners have been scouring the market for a new winger all summer, and having seen their primary target Raphinha pick Barcelona as his destination, they’re believed to be still on the lookout for potential addition to their wide attacking ranks. That, along with the presence of the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe, clearly shows that Pepe, the club’s record signing since arriving for £72 million from Lille in 2019, has no place in the plans of manager Mikel Arteta.
Arteta, however, refused to discuss the matter with the press ahead of the match against Bournemouth this weekend.
In 112 games in all competitions for Arsenal, the 27-year-old Ivory Coast international has scored 27 goals and produced 21 assists.
