Ligue 1 leaders Nice are hot on the trail of Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo, according to Le 10 Sport.
Having surprisingly finished the first part of the league campaign at the summit, les Aiglons plan to further reinforce the squad in an attempt to mount a serious title challenge.
Nice have already been linked with several high-profile footballers, but it appears that Wolfsburg playmaker Luiz Gustavo is high on their wish list.
The Brazilian midfielder is not entirely happy at the moment and it is thought that he would consider leaving the Wolves for greener pastures.
Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe appears to be aware of Nice interest and he has made it clear that any serious offer would be considered.
“When an offer comes, it has to be studied, but that does not mean that Luiz is allowed to leave,” Rebbe explained to Kicker.
Despite sitting two and five points clear of Monaco and PSG respectively, Nice can still be backed at 9/2 to lift the Ligue 1 trophy.
