Ligue 1 high-flyers Nice are considering a January bid for Lille midfielder Mounir Obbadi, according to Le 10 Sport.
Les Aignlons have enjoyed a memorable start to the current league campaign and they plan to reinforce the squad in an attempt to pip Monaco and PSG to the coveted trophy.
While they are also in the market for a high-profile forward, Nice aim to add another central midfielder to the squad.
Head coach Lucien Favre is concerned that the likes of Jean-Michael Seri and Wylan Cyprien could suffer from fatigue in the closing stages of the campaign and he hopes the expected arrival of Mounir Obbadi will prevent that from happening.
With his contract due to expire in the summer, the Moroccan should be available for a nominal fee in January.
Obbadi had been one of league’s most sought-after footballers when he left Monaco to join Lille, but he has struggled for playing time this season and will probably jump at the opportunity to sign for Nice.
