Nico Gaitan offered to Sporting CP

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Sporting CP were offered a chance to sign Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan.

The Argentine has failed to prove his worth in Madrid and latest reports suggest he will be allowed to leave in January.

A Bola claims that a return to Portugal could be on the cards as Gaitan’s agent has offered his client to Sporting CP.

This may come as a surprise considering that the 29-year-old had made a name for himself at Benfica, the Lions’ bitter rivals, but Sporting CP are seriously considering the proposal.

Nico Gaitan made a total of 29 La Liga outings for los Colchoneros (12 starts) and scored 3 goals in the process.
