Spanish daily newspaper Marca claims that Atletico Madrid winger Nicolas Gaitan is not certain to stay at Wanda Metropolitano until the end of the season.
Los Colchoneros were ready to offload the Argentine in the January transfer window, but they eventually failed to receive a suitable offer ahead of yesterday’s deadline.
Nevertheless, Marca has suggested that Nicolas Gaitan still has a chance to leave for greener pastures as Zenit are showing interest in his services.
Russian clubs have until 24 February to recruit new players, meaning they will have plenty of time to try and reach an agreement with Atletico.
Los Colchoneros are not prepared to consider offers lower than €18 million having splashed out €25m on his services 18 months ago.
