Serie A giants Lazio are considering a January bid for Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Biancocelesti had already been short of quality options when key centre-back Stefan de Vrij picked up a serious injury, with the run of four defeats in last five league fixtures suggesting the Netherlands international has been sorely missed.
It is, therefore, hardly surprising that Lazio have made signing a quality replacement their priority in the January transfer window.
The latest reports have claimed that the Biancocelesti are looking at Marseille star Nicolas N’Koulou, who is almost certain to quit Stade Velodrome this winter.
Namely, the Cameroon hotshot has a deal until the end of the season and with OM having failed to offer him a contract extension, a January exit seems likely.
Udinese stopper Thomas Heurtaux is another target for Lazio, although it is important to note that local rivals AS Roma are keen as well.
