According to Fabrizio Romano, Nicolas Pepe is not a part of Mikel Arteta’s project at Arsenal, and having rejected offers from Saudi Arabia, he’s now set to join Trabzonspor. The Turkish club are his preferred destination at this point, and the talks between the clubs and the player’s representatives are taking place in order to thrash out the terms of the transfer.
Arsenal are obviously ready to accept a reasonable offer for the services of the 28-year-old winger, who completely failed to justify the €80 million spent to sign him from LOSC Lille back in 2019, and who is now in the final year of contract at the Emirates.
In all competitions, Pepe scored 27 goals and produced 21 assists in 112 appearances for the Gunners, and spent last season on loan with OGC Nice.
