Germany scored in the dying minutes to beat Nigeria 3-2 and advance to the quarter final stage at the World Youth Championship in Egypt.

After a goalless first half at Mubarak International Stadium in Giza, Nigeria went ahead through Danny Uchechi in the 51st minute.

Bjorn Kopplin leveled a minute later but Rabiu Ibrahim restored Nigeria’s advantage in the 68th.

Germany had the final say however, despite being a man down following Tobias Kempe’s red card in the 64th minute. Mario Vrancic made it 2-2 in the 75th and Kopplin netted the winning goal in the last minute of regular time, 3-2.

The Germans now face Brazil in a top level quarter final clash on Sunday, October 10.
