(GSM) – After securing their spot in the quarter finals of the Africa Cup of nations, there was also bad news for Nigeria as Joseph Yobo will likely miss the rest of the tournament with a hamstring injury.
The Everton defender reportedly suffered from a recurring injury, and was sent to Angola’s capital Luanda to have the problem assessed.
Early results indicate that the player will need at least two weeks to recover, which means that he would be unable to feature in any of Nigeria’s remaining matches at this tournament.
“Yobo has rejoined the team and the scan revealed that he will be out for two weeks,” said Nigeria FA representative Taiwo Ogunjobi.
