Bayern Munich boss has admitted the Poland superstar is thinking about leaving the Bundesliga giants this summer but moved on to put an end to any speculation regarding Lewandowski’s future.
Robert Lewandowski has been linked with a move away from Munich for quite some time now.
His agent Pini Zahavi went public to disclose his protégée’s desire in May 2018 but Bayern Munich have since then held their firm stance on the availability of the 29-year-old forward.
With new boss Niko Kovac arriving to take over from Jupp Heynckes it was believed Lewandowski would push through the exit door but the Croatian tactician has repeated the firm stance, claiming that Lewandowski will not be leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon.
“He will not leave this club. We certainly don’t want to let him go. It’s true that Robert toys with the idea of going elsewhere. One thing is what he wants, and the other is what we want. It’s our decision. Robert has a contract and will stay here for as long as possible.”, Niko Kovac told Sky Sports Germany.
Bayern Munich prolific striker’s contract with the Bavarian powerhouse runs until 2021 and the Bundesliga champions are in no rush to sell him.
