Nilmar’s agent hints at Roma deal; Lukas Barrios set to leave Borussia Dortmund

Nilmar’s agent hints at Roma deal

The agent of Villarreal striker Nilmar has revealed that Roma are on the verge of signing his client.

The Brazilian striker was linked with a number of high-profile sides in the summer, but he eventually stayed at El Madrigal.

However, with Villarreal largely struggling this season, it looks as though the 27-year-old has set his sights on leaving the club.

Serie A side Roma have already opened talks with Villarreal and now Nilmar’s agent reveals that the Giallorossi are closing in on his client.

“I can only say that the talks are proceeding at a strong pace and I believe we can close the deal with Roma,” Orlando da Hora told O Globo.

Nilmar is currently recovering from a two-month spell on the sidelined and Villlarreal reportedly value him at around €20 million.

Lukas Barrios set to leave Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund striker Lukas Barrios could leave the club in January, according to Bild.

The forward, who played a key part in Borussia’s title-winning Bundesliga campaign, is no longer considered a first team regular at Signal-Iduna Park.

The Paraguayan started just one Bundesliga game this season and is seriously thinking about leaving the club in January.

“I am flying home on Wednesday, I’ll relax during Christmas with my family in Buenos Aires,” Barrios told Bild.

“Then, we’ll see. I do not know what I am going to do.”

Borrusia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke admits winter sale is a realistic possibility.

“It is clear that Lukas is unhappy if he doesn’t play. We want to keep him at the club.

“However, if he comes to us and says ‘I want to leave’, then we will need to talk.”

Moratti hints at winter shopping

Inter president Massimo Moratti admits that the Neroazzurri could buy new players in January.

The Neroazzurri finally started climbing the Serie A standings after the dismal start to the season and now sit in 5th place.

Weekend’s win over Cesena was the third successive triumph for Inter and Massimo Moratti is happy with team’s uptrend in fortunes.

“I’m satisfied with the improvements in the team and in our league position,” Moratti told Sky Sport Italia. “The players are re-finding themselves.”

The Inter owner has revealed that he plans to back coach Claudio Ranieri in the January transfer window.

“The squad is sufficiently big enough right now, but I’ll look to meet the needs of coach Claudio Ranieri.”
