According to L’Equipe, Christopher Nkunku is open to the idea of leaving Chelsea due to a perceived lack of game-time under Enzo Maresca, and Manchester United have already made initial inquiries into the possibility of bringing the French forward to Old Trafford in January.
Despite scoring nine goals in just seven appearances in other competitions, Nkunku has started only one game in the Premier League this term for Chelsea, and the 26-year-old doesn’t appear to be happy with Maresca repeatedly leaving him out of the starting XI in the English top flight.
As for Chelsea, they aren’t opposed to allowing Nkunku to leave in January, but with his contract running until the summer of 2029, they demand the full amount of £52 million, which they paid to sign him from RB Leipzig last year, to be paid by the prospective buyer. They obviously trust in Maresca’s decisions, as his team sits in third place in the Premier League table at the moment.
