According to a recent report from El Nacional, Barcelona manager Xavi will reject the possibility of an offer for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, who is currently back at Manchester United in his second stint with the Red Devils, has a cloud of uncertainty over his future beyond the summer. It looks increasingly unlikely that United are going to make it into the Champions League via the top four, although some reports suggested Ronaldo would be fine to stay even if it meant no UCL football.
Whatever the case may be, the prospect of him returning to Spain is still there – but there’s no chance it’s going to be Barca who go after him.
Xavi has supposedly said the potential deal would be a ‘betrayal’, which makes sense, given how many years the Portuguese star spent at the elite level with Real Madrid.
In many ways, if not all, this won’t exactly come as much of a surprise.
