According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Barcelona have not yet made an official offer to sign Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum.
The midfielder’s contract talks with the Reds have hit something of a stumbling block with reports indicating the two sides have not yet been able to come to terms on a final deal. However, that doesn’t mean Barca manager Ronald Koeman is getting what he wants either, as the club is currently not yet registering their interest in the Dutchman in an official sense.
The belief is that their intentions to sign him will become clear when the new club president is announced towards the end of January, but even then there are no guarantees.
Liverpool have had enough issues to deal with over the course of the last few months and the last thing they’ll need is another headache, but it’s down to them to ensure they give Wijnaldum what he wants.
