“I can elaborate to the point that it’s never been mentioned on my end. That’s it. ” said Lampard.
Those are the words of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard who has denied reports suggesting that the club have put in an offer for Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes.
The teenager is set to become a free agent today after failing to come to terms on a contract extension with the club, and reports had previously suggested that the Blues would be ready and willing to put forward an offer to try and bring him to Stamford Bridge.
As it turns out, it doesn’t seem like that’s the case at all – but given he’s about to go into free agency, it probably won’t be too long before we see the offers flooding in for him.
There’s no guarantee he won’t re-sign with United, either, if they’re able to put forward an improved offer for him.
