“So far we have no offer,” he said. “We know about the interest of clubs, but there is no official offer. We have said several times that we will end the season with our entire squad. And that includes Kai. That goes without saying for us.”
Those are the words of Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes who has made it crystal clear that he has not yet received an offer for 21-year-old star Kai Havertz.
The youngster is believed to be pushing hard for the two clubs to agree on a deal, with the expectation being that it could be in the range of around £70 million. They want to get the deal over the finish line prior to Leverkusen’s game against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League next week.
The transfer of Havertz is one of the most talked about of the summer, and it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes to get over the finish line.
