There hasn’t been any contact from either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur as talks between Willian and Chelsea over a contract extension stall, according to his agent Kia Joorabchian.
The Brazilian has spent seven years so far at Stamford Bridge, and his contract is set to expire at the end of this month. Talks have been held, but apparently the duration of any proposed new deal remains a huge stumbling block with Chelsea unwilling to offer three more years – which is what the player demands.
Willian recently spoke about his family being happy in London, and his words sparked speculations linking him with both Arsenal and Spurs. The Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta is believed to be contemplating a future without one (or both) of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, while the presence of Jose Mourinho, Willian’s ex-boss at Chelsea, is supposed to be tempting the 31-year-old to consider a move there.
However, the Mirror have relayed Joorabchian’s words that neither of the two Premier League clubs from the northern part of the UK capital have made any contact with him over the possibility of signing his client.
