According to a recent report from Daily Record, Scottish champions Celtic have made it clear that they are not interested in a bidding war over veteran forward Steven Fletcher.
The 33-year-old last played for Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, and while many believe his best days are behind him, he’s still pushing on in an attempt to have a late-career resurgence – potentially in his homeland of Scotland.
Celtic’s pursuit of a famous 10th league title in a row will obviously require an awful lot of thought and planning, and one has to wonder whether or not Fletcher is the kind of forward they want to be relying on. While he may not be a guaranteed starter, though, he’s certainly capable of doing a job off the bench when the club needs him.
The summer window is going to be a pretty short one, and with Celtic preparing to kick off again shortly, they’ll need to make their mind up.
