Sergio Busquets is confident Spain’s Real Madrid players will not hold back when they face their colleague Cristiano Ronaldo at Euro 2012.
After beating France 2-0 in the last eight on Saturday, the title holders are set to take on Portugal in the last four in Poland and Ukraine.
Barcelona midfielder Busquets dismissed the notion that the likes of Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso may be tempted to go soft on their club team-mate to avoid injuring him.
“If the Real players are told to go strong into a challenge on Ronaldo, they will go strong,” Busquets told O Jogo.
“These aren’t club clashes but national team clashes. It is a different story altogether.”
Busquets also warned that Spain must not focus solely on the Madrid forward.
“This semi-final will not be played against Ronaldo but against Portugal,” Busquets said.
