No January moves for Man City?

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, there are currently no plans for Manchester City to try and buy a defender during the January transfer window – and instead, they will be aiming to keep Fernandinho in their ranks at the back.

Vincent Kompany’s departure forced the club’s hand when it came to re-defining what their defensive structure was going to look like, as they went in search of replacements. However, injuries to Laporte and Stones, in addition to a series of poor performances from other defenders within the club, has led to a sustained panic amongst City fans as Liverpool continue to thrive at the top of the table.

Alas, Pep Guardiola isn’t going to panic and he is believed to be trusting in Fernandinho and what he brings to this team. Of course, that faith will be heavily tested as we head into the busy Christmas period and beyond.
