No Mir deal yet for Atletico Madrid

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Atletico Madrid are indeed interested in trying to sign Rafa Mir from Wolves – but a deal has not yet been agreed.

Mir, who just helped Spain to earn a silver medal at the Summer Olympics, has been out on loan with Huesca for over a year now with some pretty positive results. Wolves are said to be open to the possibility of bringing him back into the fold at Molineux, but he’s thought to be keener on a switch to Atletico.

There’s no guarantee that Rafa would fail or succeed if he made his way over to the Premier League, but given the joy he had in Spain, it makes sense for him to explore the possibility of remaining at the highest level in La Liga.

Still, if they don’t get something over the finish line soon, there could easily be some red tape put up.
