The Scottish Football Association have denied claims that Brazilian Neymar was the subject of racism at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The 19-year-old forward, who plays his club football with Santos, scored a double in Brazil’s 2-0 friendly win against Scotland but was the subject of much attention from the crowd.A banana was reportedly thrown onto the field as Neymar prepared to take a 77th-minute penalty, and the player himself accused the Scottish fans of racism after the match. But the SFA say that is not the case.”There has been no such incident reported to the police or the stadium safety officer,” an SFA spokesperson said.”In fact, the tens of thousands of Scotland supporters who travelled to the Emirates were commended for their behaviour.””The Scotland supporters are known the world over for their impeccable behaviour and we have no reason to believe that, after speaking to the relevant authorities, they have been anything other than exemplary.””The Scotland fans helped create a wonderful spectacle inside the Emirates and throughout London and should be applauded for their support.”But Neymar was clearly disappointed with the reaction he received from the crowd.”They were jeering me a lot, even when I was about to kick the penalty,” Neymar told Sportv.”The entire stadium was jeering. This atmosphere of racism is totally sad. We leave our country to play here and something like this happens.””It’s sad. I’d rather not even talk about it, to keep the subject from escalating.”It is believed that Neymar was jeered during the match due to his alleged diving during the match which is said to have frustrated Scottish fans.
