After some media outlets reported that Liverpool had told Real Madrid that an offer of £200 million wouldn’t be enough to take Mohamed Salah away from Anfield, Sky Sports claim there hasn’t been any contact whatsoever between the two clubs.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp recently expressed a very strong stance that his top-scoring forward won’t be leaving the club this summer, adding that there’s nothing to even think about in the matter.
Salah’s current deal with the Reds runs for four more years, and they are not prepared to contemplate their near future without the Egyptian.
Since moving from Liverpool’s Champions League semi-final opponents AS Roma to the North-West of England last summer, Salah has scored 43 goals in 47 games in all competitions for Klopp’s team. He’s been awarded the PFA Player of the Year award a few days ago, and by scoring his 31st Premier League goal of the season last weekend he has equalled the record of the 38-game competition, jointly held by Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.
Such figures inevitably go with speculations about possible transfers, but at the moment, Liverpool seem to have no intention of letting their top star leave.
