Cristiano Ronaldo will not be returning to Real Madrid, with Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain reportedly still their main target.
Apparently, some Italian media outlets, including Corriere dello Sport, have reported that was a possibility of the Portuguese superstar to return to the Santiago Bernabeu, which he left to join Juventus in the summer of 2018 after nine years. In that time, he helped Los Blancos win two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey and four Champions League trophies. In total, he scored 450 in just 438 appearances in the famous white shirt.
However, a report by AS claims that they have information from inside the club that Real simply aren’t interested in bringing the 35-year-old back. Club president Florentino Perez remains a huge admirer and personally very fond of Ronaldo, but the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s time in the Spanish capital is apparently over.
Instead, Real remain keen on building their future team around a younger player with potential of replicating the influence Ronaldo had, and their first choice is Mbappe.
