No reinforcements for Mourinho

Jose Mourinho says he is happy with his squad at Real Madrid and does not need to sign any new players in the January transfer window.

The Portuguese coach has led the Santiago Bernabeu outfit to the top of La Liga and Champions League Group D this term in unrelenting fashion, winning their last nine games in a row.

With strength and depth in almost every position, the former Chelsea boss said there is likely to be be no new faces in the new year.

“I do not want any players during the winter transfer window,” Mourinho told Sport.

“Neither side, or attacking or defensive. We know our team and we have alternatives also.”

Real take on Osasuna at home on Sunday, and Mourinho has revealed his off-season signing Nuri Sahin is fit and ready to play.

“The most important thing is that Sahin can play. If it is alongside Xabi Alonso or not we will see,” he said.

“He is a player whose qualities allow us to protect Xabi, something we have not been able to do during his injury.”

One man that will be on the treatment table and miss the weekend’s clash is Kaka, who has picked up a muscle injury.

“Kaka cannot play and will not go with Brazil, he does not have time to recover. It is an injury that has nothing to do with his serious problems of the past,” Mourinho said.

Real are one point ahead of rivals Barcelona in the league standings.
