France striker Loic Remy is anticipating an aggressive Bosnian outfit ahead of their crucial Euro 2012 qualifier on Tuesday.
Les Bleus are one point ahead of their Eastern European opponents heading into their final Group D qualifier, with the winner granted automatic qualification to next year’s finals in Poland and Ukraine.
Should France lose, they will have to progress via the play-off rounds, but Remy said his side were keen to sew up their spot in the championships as soon as possible.
“We thought we’d taken another step towards qualification, but we haven’t so far. We can see that Bosnia won too, so for us, Tuesday’s game will be crucial, but we don’t have to put pressure on ourselves,” the Marseille front man said after their 3-0 win over Albania.
“We are in a good position as we lead the group, which is important for us as we will be able to manage the match properly. We’ve got four days to get ready, the group is well prepared, first we will rest and then, we will see how we do on Tuesday.”
Remy said the initiative lies with Bosnia to try and win their clash at the Stade de France, as a draw would be of no value to help the automatic qualification hopes of Safet Susic’s men.
“We are the leaders, we are a point ahead, so if they want qualify, they will have to win the game, but they will be extremely motivated, as we were today (in the 3-0 win over Albania),” Remy said.
“We know that Tuesday’s game will be crucial and the stadium will be full, so we will be motivated.”
