Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Declan Rice from West Ham this summer, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg. Apparently, head coach Thomas Tuchel, who reportedly wanted to sign Rice for Chelsea before getting sacked at the start of this season, is pushing to get his main target now at the Allianz Arena instead.
Hammers boss David Moyes recently hinted at a possible departure of the 24-year-old England international from the London Stadium at the end of the season, but the club are believed to be demanding well over £100 million to relinquish the services of the player whose contract has one more year to go, and one more if the clause at their disposal is triggered.
However, Plettenberg says Bayern might just be willing to meet those demands.
Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be monitoring the situation, with Rice reportedly a preferred midfield target for the Gunners while the Merseysiders still consider their options in the transfer market. For his part, Rice hasn’t made any decision at this point.
News #Rice: Internally it is said that the poker has begun now! Tuchel and the bosses want him as reported and he’s one of the targets who’s top on the list.
