There weren’t any big surprises in the Greek league on Sunday, as last year’s top three all won their matches.

Defending champions Olympiakos visited Larissa and took the lead through Leonardo in the 22nd minute. The second goal came ten minutes later, and was scored by Enzo Maresca.

Panathinaikos needed just one goal to make a difference against Xanthi, with Kostas Katsouranis netting the winner five minutes before the break.

PAOK, days after being eliminated from European football, convinced with a 3-0 win over Levadiakos. Vieirinha broke the deadlock shortly after the hour, Lucio Filomeno made it 2-0 four minutes later and Pantelis Konstantinidis added a third in minute 73.

Panathinaikos lead with six points from two games, but several clubs played a game less. This includes both Olympiakos and PAOK, for who Sunday’s matches were the first of the season.
