Liverpool will be without striker Fernando Torres for their Premier League match away to Blackburn on Saturday.

Spain international Torres is still struggling with a groin problem and, despite taking part in three first team training sessions this week, manager Rafael Benitez is not yet ready to risk him at Ewood Park.

Torres, Liverpool’s leading scorer, may return for the Reds ‘dead’ Champions League tie against Fiorentina on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Liverpool’s Dutch forward Ryan Babel is still sidelined with an ankle injury.

Liverpool, who last won the English title in 1990, are currently a huge 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
