Former France captain Patrick Vieira was unable to make his Manchester City debut against Blackburn Rovers in Tuesday’s Premier League match at Eastlands after failing to overcome a calf injury in time.
Instead the former Arsenal skipper and 1998 World Cup winning midfielder – who moved from Serie A champions Inter Milan last week – was introduced to fans before kick-off as City went in search of a win that would take the club up into fourth place in the table.
