Speaking to the press ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield, manager Jurgen Klopp was asked to comment on the decision to revert the African Cup of Nations to be played in winter again, starting with 2021.
For his team, this means they are set to be without the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, and possibly Joel Matip, for about a month in the middle of the season. But Klopp puts the emphasis here on the welfare of the players themselves and the pressure they’ll be facing again.
