Spain international Nolito admits he intends to leave Manchester City after what has been a forgettable year for former Celta star.
The 30-year-old winger arrived on great promise from Celta Vigo last July, when Manchester City invested £13.8 million to steal the Spaniard in front of Barcelona’s noses, but Nolito’s influence with the Citizens got severely limited.
Nolito did end up making 30 appearances and scoring 6 goals for the Premier League side, but his debut campaign in England was extremely frustrating as the player was not given the number of minutes he would have liked.
And with Manchester City’s tendency to boost their ranks with players in his position, Nolito is determined to leave Etihad this summer. Nolito is holding out for a move – loan or permanent switch – and will analyse his options.
Still, Spain remains his preferred destination.
“I’d like to leave, whether that be on loan, permanently… I’m thinking about returning to Spain.”, Nolito told Marca.
Nolito’s former club Celta Vigo has already expressed interest to re-sign the Spaniard, while Atletico Madrid are also keen on the player.
