Galatasaray winger Nordin Amrabat has moved to confirm reports linking him with a move to English Premier League.
The 26-year-old is widely tipped to leave the Turkish giants in the January window in search of first team football, having made just three league appearances in Turkish Super Lig this term.
With league rules only allowing six foreign players in the match squad, Amrabat hasn’t featured in a league match for two months.
And he has now hinted that he could be leaving Cimbom in the near future unless his situation improves.
“There is some interest from England, but the club will not let me leave for the time being,” Amrabat told Dutch TV station NOS.
“I have inquired about my status. I want to play football again. We will wait and see how it develops and what the options are.”
Amrabat was handed a rare start in yesterday’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid, but it was clear the lack of match practice had affected his performances.
After some disappointing showings, Galatasaray sit nine points behind Turkish Super Lig leaders Fenerbahce and can be backed at 5/2 to win the league trophy this term.
