(GSM) – Goals by Nikolai Stokholm and Bajram Fetai lifted Nordsjælland to their first Danish Cup title in Thursday’s 2-0, extra-time win over Midtjylland.

The two sides failed to settle the match after the normal 90 minutes, and the match was sent to 30 minutes of extra time to decide the winner.

Six minutes into the extra period, Stokholm fired in a shot that beat the goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead, and the fans of the Farum side could sense the club’s first major domestic trophy.

In the 106th minute, their win was confirmed when Fetai bagged the second.

For manager Morten Wieghorst, the former Celtic midfielder, it marked the biggest success for him at Nordsjælland since taking over in 2006.
