Arsenal and Tottenham look set to lock horns in battle for the signature of the Stevenage starlet Ben Wilmot.
The 18-year-old defender is enjoying a highly successful breakthrough season with the Stevenage first team and has already turned plenty of heads during his 15 appearances in all competitions with the Lamex Stadium based side.
Watford were one of the first Premier League sides to be linked with the England Under-19 defender but the Hornets have now pulled out of the race with Arsenal and Tottenham leading the chase.
Wilmot is currently valued at £1 million and would be a bargain signing for either Gunners and Spurs.
The North London rivals have apparently been tracking the Stevenage youngster for months now and will be submitting a proposal for summer transfer once the current season comes to an end.
Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace recently confirmed Wilmot will be on the move during the summer transfer window.
“We have had developments that suggest a deal will be agreed shortly for him to move when the window opens.”, he said.
